
Air Algérie has taken delivery of a new Boeing 737-8 MAX, registered 7T-VLR (Manufacturer Serial Number 44043, Line Number 9681), further strengthening its narrow-body fleet as part of its ongoing fleet modernisation programme. The aircraft was built at Boeing's Renton, Washington production facility and completed its maiden flight on 14 May 2026, making it one of the airline's newest aircraft at just over two months old. During production and testing, it flew under the registrations N4022T and N4021F, before briefly being registered as D-AACE with Lufthansa Technik for pre-delivery preparation, spending time at Shannon (IRELAND) and Budapest (HUNGARY). Configured with 186 all-economy seats (Y186) and powered by two CFM International LEAP-1B28 engines, the aircraft was delivered to Air Algérie on 28 July 2026, operating a ferry flight from Budapest to Algiers (BUD–ALG). The aircraft officially entered commercial service on 30 July 2026, marking another milestone in Air Algérie's efforts to enhance operational efficiency, passenger capacity, and fuel economy through the introduction of the latest-generation Boeing 737 MAX aircraft.
