Uganda Airlines has expanded its narrow-body fleet with the addition of a leased Boeing 737-860(WL), registered ET-APL, from Ethiopian Airlines. The aircraft, which officially joined the Ugandan carrier on 12 May 2026, was originally manufactured in Renton, Washington, and completed its maiden flight on 12 June 2012, making it nearly 14 years old. Powered by two CFMI CFM56-7B27E engines and configured in a dual-class layout accommodating 16 business class and 138 economy class passengers, the aircraft has had a dynamic operational history within the Ethiopian aviation group ecosystem. Following its initial delivery to Ethiopian Airlines in June 2012, the aircraft was subsequently leased to Malawian Airlines in 2014 before returning to Ethiopian Airlines in 2015.
