Announced on 28 April 2026 in Zurich, the deal positions Swissport to strengthen its footprint in Africa, where it already operates in 30 stations across countries including Kenya, South Africa, Morocco, Ghana, Tanzania, and Algeria. The acquisition will give CV Handling access to Swissport’s global operational standards, digital solutions, and international network, while supporting improvements in service quality, efficiency, and infrastructure at key airports such as Praia and Sal. Swissport stated that the investment aligns with its broader growth strategy in ground handling, cargo, and aviation services, and will include plans for infrastructure upgrades, digital transformation, and the establishment of a local training academy to develop workforce skills. The transaction remains subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions.
