    SOUTH SUDAN President Salva Kiir officially inaugurated Terminal 3 at Juba International Airport on Thursday, marking a major milestone in the country’s efforts to modernise its aviation infrastructure and enhance air connectivity. Launched under the theme “A New Era of Safe, Secure and Sustainable Air Transport for All,” the new terminal is expected to expand passenger-handling capacity, improve service quality, strengthen safety and security standards, and support the growth of regional and international air links. During the inauguration ceremony attended by government officials, diplomats, development partners and aviation stakeholders, Kiir commended the Ministry of Transport, the Civil Aviation Authority and project teams for completing the long-awaited facility despite economic and political challenges. However, he also called for stronger accountability and improved management of public contracts to prevent delays in future infrastructure projects.
