Aviation Agreements Trails: Week 30, 2026

The African Civil Aviation Commission (AFCAC) and the Civil Aviation Authority of Zimbabwe (CAAZ) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation in accelerating ZIMBABWE's implementation of the Yamoussoukro Decision (YD) and the Single African Air Transport Market (SAATM). Signed by AFCAC Secretary General Adefunke Adeyemi and CAAZ Director General George Mashababe, the agreement will support the assessment of ZIMBABWE's progress using approved YD/SAATM Key Performance Indicators, identify implementation gaps, and facilitate the development, execution, and monitoring of corrective measures. The partnership underscores the shared commitment of both organizations to advancing air transport liberalization, enhancing regulatory compliance, improving regional air connectivity, and promoting continental integration through the effective implementation of SAATM. The signing follows the successful Whole-of-Government SAATM Airshow held in Harare two weeks earlier and marks another significant step in ZIMBABWE's efforts to deepen its participation in Africa's single aviation market.
