The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) has approved air service licences for more than 20 local and international operators under a Kenya Gazette notice dated August 7, 2026, expanding the scope of passenger, cargo, mail, charter, training and aerial-work operations in KENYA and across the region. Among the key approvals, Saudi Arabian Airlines Corporation (Saudia) received a two-year licence, effective January 14, 2026, for international non-scheduled cargo services connecting Jeddah and Nairobi, including routings through Johannesburg, Addis Ababa, Dar es Salaam, N’Djamena, Lagos, Eldoret, Kano, Khartoum, Niamey and Entebbe, using Boeing 777, Boeing 747 and Airbus A330 aircraft based in Jeddah, although the licence does not confer traffic rights between the intermediate points. Jambojet was granted a one-year licence, effective July 29, 2026, for international non-scheduled passenger, cargo and mail services to and from destinations in AFRICA and beyond, using DHC-8 aircraft based at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) and Moi International Airport.
