
EgyptAir has strengthened its narrowbody fleet with the near-simultaneous delivery of two brand-new Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft, registered SU-GGM and SU-GGN, handed over on 1 and 2 May 2026 respectively. The jets, bearing Manufacturer Serial Numbers (MSN) 68135 and 68136 and Line Numbers 9556 and 9568, were both produced at Boeing’s Renton facility and completed their first flights in March 2026 (20 March for SU-GGM and 25 March for SU-GGN), making them among the youngest additions to the airline’s fleet. Prior to delivery, the aircraft underwent testing under registrations including N4022T and N4022H. Both are powered by CFM International LEAP-1B engines and are already active, supporting EgyptAir’s short- to medium-haul network and ongoing fleet modernisation strategy. Notably, the two aircraft are leased from Sumisho Air Lease, underscoring the carrier’s continued reliance on operating lease structures to efficiently scale capacity while maintaining financial flexibility.
