
Nesma Airlines has launched a new direct international service between Cairo and Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport, marking its entry into the Turkish market and expanding its NORTH AFRICA–EUROPE network. According to FTN News and supporting aviation reports, the route officially commenced on 22 May 2026 with three weekly flights operating on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The service connects Cairo International Airport in EGYPT with Istanbul’s Sabiha Gökçen Airport in TÜRKIYE, one of the country’s fastest-growing aviation hubs, and is aimed at strengthening tourism, trade, and investment flows between EGYPT and TÜRKIYE. The inaugural flight was welcomed with a ceremonial water salute and terminal celebrations, reflecting strong bilateral aviation ties. The new route forms part of Nesma Airlines’ broader expansion strategy across regional and short-haul international markets.
