    Air Algérie will launch a new non-stop Algiers–Kuala Lumpur route starting 29 March 2026, to be operated three times weekly using the Airbus A330-900neo, marking a major step in its long-haul expansion strategy. The service will aim to position Algiers as a key hub linking Africa and Southeast Asia, reducing reliance on traditional transit points in the Gulf and Europe while cutting travel times. Beyond passenger connectivity, the route is expected to boost tourism, religious travel, business links, and cargo flows between North and West Africa and Malaysia. Supported by modern aircraft efficiency and ongoing fleet and infrastructure upgrades at Algiers, the move will reflect Air Algérie’s broader ambition to diversify its network toward Asia and strengthen its role in the emerging Africa–Asia aviation and trade corridor, despite competition from established global carriers.
