    Air Peace has launched a historic long-haul service connecting Lagos with the Caribbean, specifically BARBADOS and ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA, marking one of the first direct West Africa–Caribbean air links. The new route, operated using a wide-body Boeing 777, began with its inaugural flight on 24 May 2026 and continued with a return service on 25 May, carrying hundreds of passengers including government and aviation officials. The service routes Lagos directly to BARBADOS before continuing onward to ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA, creating a bi-island connectivity model designed to support tourism, diaspora travel, and cargo flows between Africa and the Caribbean. The airline positions the service as a strategic alternative to traditional itineraries that previously required transits through congested European or North American hubs such as London or Miami. Beyond passenger convenience, the route is also expected to strengthen trade links, particularly for West African exports to Caribbean markets, while enhancing cultural and diaspora connectivity between the two regions.
