    Ethiopian Airlines has taken delivery of a new Boeing 737-8 MAX, registered ET-BCU, manufacturer serial number (MSN) 62953 and line number 9802. The aircraft was manufactured at Boeing’s Renton (RNT) facility and completed its first flight on 15 August 2026, making it virtually new at the time of delivery. Powered by two CFM International LEAP-1B28 engines, ET-BCU is configured with 160 seats, comprising 16 Business Class and 144 Economy Class seats (C16Y144). The aircraft was delivered to Ethiopian Airlines on 15 September 2026, following a delivery ferry flight from Seattle/Boeing Field (BFI) via Dublin (DUB) to Addis Ababa (ADD) between 15 and 17 September. The addition further expands Ethiopian AirlinesBoeing 737 MAX fleet and supports the carrier’s continued fleet renewal and narrow-body capacity growth.
