Egyptair Cargo has added Airbus A330-243(P2F) SU-GCH to its fleet following the conversion of the 21-year-old airframe from passenger to freighter configuration. The aircraft, MSN 683, was originally built as an Airbus A330-243 at Toulouse and first flew on 27 June 2005, before being delivered to EgyptAir on 13 August 2005 in a C24Y244 passenger configuration and powered by two Rolls-Royce Trent 772B-60 engines. After periods of extended storage at Cairo International Airport, including from 2019–2022 and again from January to November 2025, SU-GCH was positioned at Dresden (DRS) on 1 November 2025 for conversion. The passenger-to-freighter programme was completed in June 2026, transforming the aircraft into an A330-243(P2F), and it was formally recorded with Egyptair Cargo on 12 September 2026. The delivery represents a strategic fleet development for Egyptair Cargo, bringing an existing widebody asset back into active service in a dedicated freighter role and potentially strengthening the carrier’s capacity for regional and international air cargo operations.
