    CAMEROON has awarded MTN Cameroon and ITGStore a CFA1.377 billion (including taxes) contract to deploy and commission WLAN and SD-WAN network infrastructure at six airports—Bafoussam, Douala, Garoua, Maroua, Ngaoundéré and Yaoundé—under the World Bank-backed Digital Transformation Acceleration Project (PATNUC). The contract, awarded on 4 September 2026 and published by the Public Procurement Regulatory Agency on 9 September, is intended to advance digital connectivity at the country’s airports, although the procurement documents do not specify the quantity of equipment, network architecture, connection speeds or whether the WLAN will directly provide passenger Wi-Fi or primarily support airport operations. The consortium has six months to complete the installation after receiving the formal order to proceed, but implementation remains pending as of the announcement because the contract had not yet been signed. A related CFA260.70 million contract was awarded to Central Achat Cameroun-Bercotech for charging stations at the same six airports, bringing the combined value of the two projects to CFA1.638 billion.
