    Chinese construction companies are dominating the shortlist for contracts to build Ethiopian Airlines’ planned new mega-airport southeast of Addis Ababa, with Chinese firms or Chinese-led joint ventures accounting for 15 of the 33 shortlisted bidders, according to Ethiopian Airlines. The approximately US$12.5 billion project, which is expected to become ***AFRICA***’s largest airport when completed around 2030, is being developed to relieve capacity pressures at *Bole International Airport* and ultimately handle up to 110 million passengers annually.
