The 35th Airports Council International (ACI) AFRICA Annual General Assembly, Regional Conference and Exhibition is being held in Abuja, NIGERIA, from 19 to 25 September 2026, bringing together more than 500 airport and aviation stakeholders from across AFRICA and beyond. Hosted at the Abuja Continental Hotel, the week-long gathering includes the ACI AFRICA Annual General Assembly, board and committee meetings, technical sessions, an exhibition and executive forums under the theme “Next-Gen Airports: Driving Performance and Resilience.” Discussions are focusing on the financial sustainability and operational efficiency of African airports, digital transformation, passenger experience, infrastructure development, safety and security, sustainability, resilience and the development of future-ready aviation skills. ACI AFRICA Secretary-General Ali Tounsi has highlighted financial efficiency as a major industry challenge, noting that around 80% of African airports are financially inefficient, particularly underscoring the need for stronger commercial models and improved airport performance.
