    Aviation Agreements Trails: Week 40, 2026

    Etihad Airways and NIGERIA’s Ibom Air have signed an interline agreement to expand international and domestic connectivity, enabling passengers travelling through Etihad’s planned Lagos and Accra services to connect to five additional NIGERIAN cities: Abuja, Uyo, Port Harcourt, Calabar and Enugu. Under the arrangement, travellers will be able to book combined itineraries on a single ticket, with checked baggage transferred through to their final destinations, simplifying connections between Etihad’s international network and Ibom Air’s domestic services. The agreement will also facilitate connections from Accra to Abuja and Uyo, extending travel options between GHANA and NIGERIA. The partnership is scheduled to take effect ahead of Etihad’s planned entry into the two markets in March 2027, when daily flights between Abu Dhabi and Lagos are due to commence on 23 March, followed by four weekly flights to Accra from 24 March. Tickets covering the combined airline networks are scheduled to go on sale from 3 November 2026.
