
The Guyana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) and Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen bilateral cooperation, technical collaboration and regulatory capacity in civil aviation, establishing a framework for both authorities to exchange knowledge, expertise and best practices in the management, modernisation and maintenance of aviation systems. Signed by GCAA Director General Lt. Col. (ret’d) Egbert Field and UCAA Deputy Director General Olive Birungi Lumonya, the agreement covers a broad range of regulatory and operational areas, including aviation safety oversight and surveillance, aircraft certification, State Safety Programmes, Safety Management Systems, personnel licensing and training, aerodrome management, airworthiness, institutional strengthening and human-resource development, as well as economic regulation and oversight of air transport.
