TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO has signed Air Services Agreements (ASAs) with GHANA and PANAMA, establishing a formal framework for expanding air connectivity and aviation cooperation with AFRICA and SOUTH AMERICA. The agreements were signed on 21 September 2026 in New York by Foreign and CARICOM Affairs Minister Sean Sobers on behalf of the TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO Government during the 81st United Nations General Assembly. The agreement with PANAMA is particularly significant given PANAMA’s role as a major aviation gateway for the Caribbean and the wider AMERICAS, with Tocumen International Airport serving as a key regional connecting hub, while the agreement with GHANA creates a framework for strengthening TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO’s aviation links with West Africa and facilitating increased travel, tourism, trade, investment and commercial exchanges.
