    Manda Airport in Lamu, KENYA, recorded a significant operational milestone on 30 September 2026 when an Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 737-800, registered ET-BBR, landed at approximately 10:14 a.m. in connection with the high-profile groundbreaking of the Dangote Oil Refinery project. The arrival formed part of increased international aviation activity associated with the event, with Manda reportedly handling five flights originating from NIGERIA, ETHIOPIA and UGANDA, in addition to a number of high-end business aircraft, including Gulfstream G500 and G600, Embraer Legacy 600 and Global Express 900 jets.
