AeroItalia has launched scheduled services to LIBYA, connecting Milan Bergamo (BGY) and Rome Fiumicino (FCO) with Tripoli Mitiga International Airport (MJI), marking the Italian carrier’s entry into the Libyan market and expanding its international network into NORTH AFRICA. The Milan–Tripoli service commenced on 6 September 2026, with AeroItalia operating flight XZ354 using a Boeing 737-400 (B734), registration 9H-RUN. On its inaugural operation, the aircraft departed Milan Bergamo at 08:30 and arrived at Tripoli Mitiga at 10:54, against a scheduled arrival of 10:50, completing the sector in approximately 2 hours 24 minutes including the recorded operation. The new ITALY–LIBYA operation is being expanded to three frequencies per week, with services from both Milan and Rome, strengthening direct connectivity between LIBYA and two major Italian markets. The launch comes as demand for international connectivity from Tripoli continues to recover, while Italian and Libyan carriers expand their presence in the market.
