
An Enugu Air Embraer ERJ-170LR (registration 5N-ENR, MSN 17000274), manufactured in 2009 and powered by General Electric CF34-8E engines, was involved in a runway excursion after landing at Benin City Airport (BNI/DNBE), NIGERIA, on 23 July 2026 at approximately 15:10 local time. The aircraft was operating a scheduled passenger service from Lagos-Murtala Muhammed International Airport (LOS/DNMM) and was carrying 67 passengers and five crew members, totaling 72 occupants. Following the runway excursion, all occupants were safely evacuated without injuries or fatalities, although the aircraft sustained substantial damage. The circumstances surrounding the runway excursion remain under investigation.
