    Uganda Airlines has confirmed its first-ever direct aircraft purchase from Boeing, placing a firm order for four Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft and four Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners as part of a major fleet modernization and expansion programme announced during the 2026 Farnborough International Airshow. The landmark order will strengthen the airline's regional, continental and long-haul operations while supporting UGANDA's ambition to position Entebbe International Airport as a strategic aviation hub for East and Central Africa. The fuel-efficient Boeing 737-8 aircraft will be deployed on regional African services as well as routes to the Middle East and INDIA, while the long-range Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners will enable the airline to expand and reinforce intercontinental services to Europe, Asia and the Middle East. According to Chief Executive Officer Ato Girma Wake, the investment represents a defining milestone in Uganda Airlines' growth strategy by enhancing connectivity, supporting tourism, trade, investment and air cargo development, while also strengthening technical capacity through a long-term partnership with Boeing.
