
Air Cairo launched its first direct flight between Porto, PORTUGAL, and New Alamein International Airport around 8 June 2026, marking a new expansion into the Portuguese market. The inaugural service carried 180 passengers and forms part of the airline’s broader strategy to strengthen European connectivity and support inbound tourism to EGYPT, particularly to emerging destinations such as New Alamein. The airline stated that it remains the only Egyptian carrier operating direct flights between EGYPT and PORTUGAL and continues to expand its international route network to attract more European tourists while reinforcing its role in supporting EGYPT’s wider tourism development objectives.
