
Airlink is set to expand its international market reach by adding Doha to its network through an expanded codeshare partnership with Qatar Airways, with the South African carrier placing its 4Z code on Qatar Airways-operated services from 31 August 2026. The agreement will make Doha the first long-haul destination marketed directly by Airlink and provide customers with access to Qatar Airways’ twice-daily Johannesburg–Doha service, 10 weekly Cape Town–Doha flights and daily Durban–Doha services, with the latter operating via Maputo. All services will be operated by Qatar Airways using Airbus A350 aircraft, connecting South African passengers through Hamad International Airport to the airline’s extensive global network. The expanded arrangement builds on the airlines’ 2022 codeshare, under which Qatar Airways placed its code on Airlink’s domestic and regional services, and follows Qatar Airways’ acquisition of a 25% minority stake in Airlink in 2024, further deepening the strategic relationship between the two carriers.
