    The Ivorian government has announced a 25% reduction in passenger and security charges for flights within the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), as part of a broader aviation reform aimed at boosting regional air connectivity and strengthening the competitiveness of Air Côte d'Ivoire and the country’s airports. The decision, formalised through three new decrees, standardises aviation-related fees across domestic, intra-African, and international routes in alignment with ECOWAS aviation charge and tax reforms adopted in December 2024. The reduced charges are expected to lower operating costs for airlines flying within West Africa, potentially improving affordability and demand while enhancing Côte d’Ivoire’s position as a regional aviation hub.
