
The government of ANGOLA has confirmed it will push ahead with the long-awaited privatisation of its state-owned flag carrier, TAAG Angola Airlines, in 2026 following a presidential decree updating the country’s asset divestment programme. The move, approved by President João Lourenço on February 19, places TAAG among 10 priority state enterprises slated for privatisation this year under the PROPRIV framework. ANGOLA’s authorities have pursued the initiative as part of broader economic reforms and restructuring efforts begun in 2018, aiming to attract strategic investors, reduce government interference and bolster the airline’s competitiveness. Negotiations with potential international partners continue alongside operational transformation work designed to strengthen TAAG before the planned equity transition.
The Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) is planning to launch a dedicated taxi-hailing platform at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) to modernize ground transport services.
