
Air Algérie has launched a new non-stop route connecting Algiers and Kuala Lumpur, with the inaugural service taking place on 30 March 2026, marking the first direct air link between Algeria and Malaysia. The route is operated three times weekly using Airbus A330-900neo aircraft, with flight times of approximately 12 hours 35 minutes outbound and 13 hours 45 minutes inbound across varying weekly schedules. This long-haul addition strengthens connectivity between Africa and Southeast Asia, joining services by Ethiopian Airlines and Air Mauritius as the only African carriers currently serving Kuala Lumpur, while re-entering a market previously exited by Malaysia Airlines and AirAsia.
